| With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get. - Minimum size = Viewing distance/3
- Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

I haven't had this TV very long but so far it is great. I had to replace my panasonic rear projection tv because the lamp keep going out every 4 to 6 months. I thought it was a great tv till I got this one. It was so easy to set up and being I had no help this was a big plus. It is light in weight which I could pick up and put the base on and sit it on the stand. Programming it was a breeze. The manual is on a disc which you have to download on your computer to read. Wasn't impressed with that. The picture is great and the remote has information on it for what is playing and what will play next, which the panasonic didn't have. This is a plus for me as do not have cable. Over all I love this tv and right now would recommend it. Hope it last longer than my panasonic.

Great TV for the price, alot of fine tuning features, great picture, nice glossy black finish, the fact that this TV is only 60hz doesn't bother me, I can't tell the difference anyhow. Definetly worth the investment.

Ordered from Amazing Deals Online. Received LCD tv in 1 week. (gave away old tv). Now almost exactly 22 hours later after using this TV the screen started to flicker and pop, then a loud hissing from the back and the screen FAILED. Now, no TV just audio, and I have heard that LG has a 5% failure rate. That is 1 tv out of every 20 will FAIL within 1 year. 1 out of every 20 people will have a broken TV, without question. My CRT lasted 8 years and looked pretty damn good.
