Product Description The LD520 series offers a line of 1080p CFL backlit LCDs with TruMotion 120Hz frame rate conversion. We have not been impressed with the effect that 120/240Hz processing has on film/DVD content but we are looking forward to see if improvements have been made this year. Clear Voice II enhances the diaglog when watching TVs at low volume and we were impressed with this feature on last year's LG LCDs, AV Mode II allows custom settings for various media types such as sports, movies and video games.

 | With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get. - Minimum size = Viewing distance/3
- Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

Great TV June 21, 2010 T. Bone (DFW, TX USA) This is my first flat screen, but in comparing it with those of friends' and family, this TV has the better picture. It was simple to set up to DirecTV and my DVD player. Love the voice moderation feature that keeps commercials from blowing you into the next county. :0) I read reviews and compared features-to-cost with other similar models. This model won hands-down.
Great TV, amazing service July 15, 2010 Scott Kimber (Utah) This TV looks great, super easy to set up and use, the picture is outstanding. I have used all the ports and features and have yet to find a complaint. The seller was amazing too, in home delivery and verification and 1-year in home warranty which doesn't look like I will ever need it, but I am very satisfied with everything.
Great TV for a great price July 24, 2010 5s (Chicago) I got a steal of a deal on this TV @ $700 from another vendor. I'm only using it to watch Bluray movies in beautiful 1080P, being driven off my PC with the VGA (15 pin) cable. I don't even have it hooked up to cable TV, though I am tempted now to get HDTV. The movies look absolutely incredible! The interface for the onscreen controls are very easy to use, though I haven't made any adjustments from the defaults.
One tip I have for people looking to play large (8GB+) MKV files stutter-free is to try KM Player.
I like it August 28, 2010 George H. Crone (Redondo Beach, Ca) I've had this TV installed for a couple weeks. It was easy setup although upon first look it was not quite what I expect. That is 100% attributed to the fact that I didn't purchase any HDMI cables so I had to hook up my HDMI cable box from time warner using RCA cables. Let me tell you the picture is pretty bad if you aren't using HDMI cables. Once I bought those the next hurdle I had was Time Warner's HDMI channels were unviewable, they kept blinking on/off and was really strange. It wasn't until I called Time Warner and had them resync my cable box that everything came to life. Wholly canolies what a difference. CBS, NBC, Discovery... all the HDMI channels were awesome. It then took me an hour plus to go to all my DVR recordings and change from regular tv to HDMI channels. Even a basic news reports is dang near spectacular viewing via Hi Def. I have watched a few Netflix movies and DVD movies utilizing the 1080P up-convert on my DVD player and it is quite awesome however in comparison to my buddies Blue Ray player it's not quite the same. That being said I have no complaints at all, the TV looks great! I did purchase a new LG surround sound system to support the Fiber Optic Audio output being that the TV has just has adequate audio. The presets on video are good and the video wizard to help setup the video for your specific environment is good. For $800, no tax, free shipping and "same as cash financing" (with signing up for an Amazon card) I'm very pleased with this TV. Usually a purchase of this size brings buyers remorse but I'm still stoked :-)
Great TV August 7, 2010 S. Katz 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
So I have only recently bought the TV so take this with a grain of salt but I am very pleased with the TV. It was extremely easy to set up and the picture quality is great. I took a very long time to decide on a TV and finally went with this one bc it had everything i was looking for in a TV for a great price. All in all I think its a great TV for the price and you really cant go wrong with this product.
